The dub~Step~Arcade is a analogue sound FX synthesiser featuring both the modulated tone characteristics of the popular DUB~SIREN sound FX unit's and the stepped pitch computer esc tone's of the STEPPED TONE GENERATOR by Forrest Mims (know as the ATARI PUNK CONSOLE) hence the name Dub Step Arcade!

The D~S~A extends the basic principles of the two circuit's adding common synthesiser features such as Voltage control, Attack-Decay Envelope generator Voltage controlled amplifier and LFO Modulator !!.

I have 4 custom made Unit's (all same as one shown below) - its fully assembled, tested, 100% working and ready to rock your sets and productions !!!

The unit is a new build using all new quality parts, colour coded knobs, plastic covers on the switches, PP3 battery draw, Green flashing LED, printed decal design with a glossy finish which is easy to wipe clean, a fancy crackle paint job which is lacquered to protect it and quality rubber feet !!!!!!!!!!!! what more could you want in your life?

The Dub Step Arcade is a powerful analogue noise synthesiser controls too produce many original sounds
1 ~ Main oscillator pitch control
2 ~ Modulation depth with LFO-(square/triangle) or AD gen select to alter the pitch of the oscillator
3 ~ Steps control with lfo-square/triangle modulation select - this control makes the pitch jump in steps and alters the harmonic content of the tone.
4 ~ Envelope Attack controls how quickly the envelope voltage rises (can effect pitch or volume)
5 ~ Envelope Decay controls how quickly the envelope voltage decays over time
7 ~ Envelope can be used to control pitch and volume.
8 ~ Envelope auto Repeat and one shot - the envelope can automatically repeat like a LFO or simply fire once.
9 ~ LFO modulator with speed control with square / triangle wave-shapes - can be used to change the pitch and steps setting over time
10 ~ VCA level control with manual constant setting or A/D gen source select
11 ~ Control voltage input (controls the main oscillators frequency)
12 ~ Trigger input (envelope can be triggered by external sequencer)
13 ~ Can be powered with a PP3 9V battery or 9VDC transformer power supply (rated 300ma centre positive 2.1mm power socket)

I think the samples above say more than i can about the sonic abilities of the mighty DUB STEP ARCADE !

A few facts and specs
The output in manual mode is about +6db AKA quite loud! when using with a sound card i set the volume dial to 6. In A/D mode the output is up to 0db (slightly less with long attack settings) and the quietest noise is -52db as in you can hear a faint tone when the envelope is not activated when the steps setting is 0 (LISTEN TO EXAMPLE) as you can hear the tone is faint until the envelope is activated and if you use a higher steps setting this faint tone goes away completely - quiet good for a noise maker really. I usually find this is not a problem as louder sounds mask the tone or a compressor gate can be used with a threshold of-50db and this removes the faint tone completely and still allows the enveloped sound to be heard. Long life Alkaline batteries are best used as the battery life is not amassing or even better use a 9vdc transformer. pitch range is about 200hz-4khz.
