  		MATT THE MODULATOR AKA MATTHEW NEWLOVE

Matt The Modulator is a music producer, circuit bender, audio electronic constructor and mixing engineer currently based in Hull England. I started circuit bending in 2002 after seeing an article in DJ-Mag about a circuit bent speak and maths by Paul Norris of Circuit Benders. After destroying a few texas instruments and casio collectable's i have amassed a collection of weird and unique noise machines and effects as well as the experience in electronics and synthesizer building.

In 2005 i started a HND in music recording technology at Confetti school of Music Nottingham were i acquired skills in music production, recording, synthesis, theory of sound and midi systems. In 2008 i completed a BSC in music recording technology at De-Montfort university leicester achieving a 2:1 with honours degree.

During my third year i developed my understanding of audio electronics and i moved from circuit bending to building and designing my own effects and oscillator circuits. I have now finally realised an idea for a combining the simple Atari punk console and the dub siren modulation circuits to produce a noise maker with synthesiser qualities such as modulation and volume envelope. as well as designing the circuit i have also gone through the process of writing the instructions, case design and producing Gerber files for PCB production.

As well as electronics i have adapted my media productions skills to produce this web site further enhancing my knowledge of html and php coding. in the past two years i have continued to mix and edit audio with a small pro-tools set up. i have mixed and mastered tracks for games and web sites for the programmer Matt Howlett. I'm currently working on some hand made audio effects and noise makers to fund the development of my home recording and mixing setup.
